A New Paradigm in Book Publishing and Marketing

What if there was a novel series that capitalized on the continuinginterest of the reading public in conspiracytheories, unsolved mysteries, urban myths, New Age beliefs and paranormalevents?

And what if that novelseries fed the growing appetite of thepublic for ‘puzzle stories’ in the vein of NationalTreasure and Indiana Jones?

And what if thatnovel series contained the ongoing adventures of a debunker of conspiracytheories, unsolved mysteries, urban myths, New Age beliefs and paranormalevents but pressed into pursuing them by threats to himself, family andreputation?

And what if that novel series used an innovative marketing program to promote and sell the book series as a packaged product of book, promotionand corporate sponsorship?

Now there is.

There are two major challenges that traditional publishers are facing today selling books.

1. A drop in books sales over the last decade due to a new media competitor. A 2007 study by the Book Industry Study Group, Inc. predicts that U.S. book sales will increase less than four (4) percent annually during each of the next five years as the publishing industry competes with the Internet and other media.
2. Once a book is published, an audience must be reached through the din of the marketplace.

The solution is:

1. To use those very same Internet and other media to creatively market fiction books.
2. Instead of publishing a book first than go looking for an audience, use a marketing program that creates an audience and a demand months before a novel is actually published.

CONCEPT

In a tale that will attractfans of Tom Clancy, James Patterson and Clive Cussler, Jeremy Nash ©, a noteddebunker and skeptic of conspiracy theories, urban legends and myths, is drawninto the search for where the body of Christ is buried today. Proof of this shattering fact will shake religious beliefs. A letter from his long lost grandfather written in an ancient language, tells of a diary that will reveal where the body of Christ lies today. His grandfather claims the Second Coming was destroyed by the US Air Force in 1947 and Nash is forced to pursue the claim when his sister is kidnapped by a religious cult that demands the diary for her life.  From there ATASTEOF THE APOCALYPSE takes readers on an E-ticket ride from the deserts ofNew Mexico to the Holy Land, throughout Europe and back again!

A TASTEOF THE APOCALYPSE is the first installment in a new continuing heroseries featuring Jeremy Nash ©. Each Nash chronicle in the series is a thriller that sends Nash on an investigation of these myths and legends. Though he doesn’t believe in any of them, he is forced into pursuing them by threats to the lives of his family members or himself or threats to his reputation.

FORMULA

The formula of the chronicles consists of a conspiracy theory, unsolved mystery, urban myth, New Age belief or paranormal practice that Nash is forced to pursue through a series of clues and puzzles that he must solve; combined with an underlying real world threat of event, organization or persons that is somehow connected to what he is pursuing. This provides the thriller aspect of the stories.

Thus, the chronicles combine the best of Indiana Jones with the National Treasure © movie concepts.

AUDIENCE

Since there is an almost infinite supply of conspiracy theories, unsolved mysteries, urban myths, New Age beliefs and paranormal practices, the Nash Chronicles has at it’s disposal an unlimited quantity of plot ideas to continue the series beyond the first three books.

The Chronicles of Jeremy Nash provides the five elements of what publishers want:

  1. Continuing public interest in conspiracy theories, unsolved mysteries, urban myths, New Age beliefs and paranormal events

  4. Marketing Plan (Alernative Reality Game)
  5. Well written thrillers

    MARKET

This book and its sequels could be the “mind candy” Western audiences are seeking to escape from the post 9/11 cloud.  With many of the best action adventure writers in their 70’s and their “co-authored” books no longer garnering the same following of the originals, it is time for a new author with a new hero.
